Dr Beng is an eccentric psychiatric doctor in private practice. A suave and smooth talker, Dr Beng is like the G.T.O. of mental health, a rebel, and one whom thinks out of the box and knows no OB markers; He is naturally gifted in his profession but his manners and behaviors, uncouth and some said, unbecoming of a doctor….. In this series, Dr Beng will demonstrate his flair and in depth understanding of the human mind, to create and apply unconventional treatment methods to help his mental patients. Dr Beng’s antics will serve to raise questions about ourselves, pin point matters at heart among parents/teachers and challenge our perceptions and stereotypical ideas held about psychiatry and mentally-ill patients. Within these 13 episodes, Dr Beng together with his two partners, Swan (an art therapist) and Tracy (mental health case worker) will resolve issues related to 10 mentally-ill youths, ranging from schizophrenia, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder to personality disorders etc. This will be an exciting and enriching journey into the hearts and minds of the characters, and also to rediscover the “secret gardens” inside each and everyone of us….
